Monday, June 4, 2018 - Visit Segiyev Posad (Zagorosk), then travel back to Moscow

After breakfast, another 2 and 1/2 hours bus drive, we arrived Segiyev Posad. The only city in the Moscow Region to be included in the Golden Ring is Sergiev Posad which is closely linked with the UNESCO-protected Troitse-Sergieva Lavra (Trinity Monastery of St. Sergius) which was founded in the 14th century by St Sergius of Radonezh. The Lavra is now one of the most important religious sites in Russian and St Sergius is one of the most respected native Russian saints. Trinity Monastery of St. Sergius is the spiritual center of the Russian Orthodox churches. It is also famous for Russian Nesting Dolls.

In my opinion, this is the most beautiful attraction spots of this whole trip.  We had many photo opportunities here.

Then, we had lunch at a nearby Russian Yard Restaurant.  The decorations were very nice and unique.  They also have a huge selections of souvenirs.

After lunch, we drove back to Moscow. It took 1 and 1/2 hours for 70+ miles distance due to Moscow’s traffic.  Then our local guide took us to the GUM shopping mall near Red Square for a last chance of buying caviar.  Some of us bought stuffs in the GUM shopping mall, and some of us went out to the Red Square again to take more photos in different time of the day.  It was much less tourists at that hours and the photo opportunities were much better.
St. Basil’s Cathedral
Then, we had a cruise dinner on one of the Radisson boats.  It cruised along the Moskva River passing all famous attractions.  It was another photo opportunity for some of us.
